SOMM SCHOOL SOCIAL: Bottle Breakdown
Differentiating Structural Elements in Wine
Wednesday, June 20 | 5:30-7:30pm
International Culinary Center
700 West Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008
Get ready to exercise your palate at this Somm School Social Meet Up. Find out what structure means when we talk about wine and how to taste it.
Led by Certified Sommelier and International Culinary Center’s Associate Wine Director, Rachel Lintott, we’ll taste through wines selected to showcase structural differences key to success in: describing wine, blind tasting, food and wine pairings, and determining which wines you (or a friend) will most likely enjoy.
Together we’ll explore the following juxtapositions—letting our palates lead the way:
- Low Acid v. High Acid
- Low Sugar v. High Sugar
- Low Alcohol v. High Alcohol
- Low Tannin v. High Tannin
We’ll have bubbles and canapés prepared by ICC’s Chef-Instructors upon arrival, so come ready to mingle and learn!
