In celebration of our 30th anniversary, ICC has established the Alumni Mentor Scholarship program. It is a wonderful way to foster connection among our alumni and students.

Alumni will be asked to provide contact information along with a brief recommendation for prospective students.  Upon enrollment, students must submit a statement with their culinary goals to receive the scholarship. Alumni can refer multiple candidates. For more information, click here.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

To apply for the Alumni Mentor scholarship, applicants must provide:

  • A letter of recommendation from the referring ICC alumni
  • A completed admission application
  • A completed scholarship application online.
  • Applicants must choose ONE of the three options to apply:

1. Write a 500-word essay describing your passion for cooking and goals for enrolling in your chosen program OR

2. Answer three questions: Why did you choose ICC and this program?; Once you graduate, what is your goal?; How would this scholarship help you to achieve that goal? OR

3. Submit a video you have created describing your passion for cooking and goals for enrolling in your chosen program.

In addition to the scholarships called out on our website, many employers and unions offer scholarships to employees or to the children of employees. It may be worthwhile to ask your family if their companies or unions offer this benefit.

For high school students or currently enrolled college students who are looking to enter the Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management fields.

Achievement Scholarship Program
For African-American high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education.

The ACFEF, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, offers educational scholarships to high school students that have a career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef.

Hungry to Lead Scholarship
The Hungry To Lead scholarship was initiated in 2014 in an effort to provide financial assistance to future leaders in the foodservice and hospitality industry ranging from $1000-$2500. Visit their website for eligibility requirements and application due dates.

James Beard Foundation 
James Beard Foundation School Scholarships have been established to assist aspiring culinary professionals who plan to further their education at a licensed or accredited culinary school. A range of $2,000-$5,000 awards are available for ICC’s Professional Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Cake Techniques & Design and Intensive Sommelier Training programs.

NEWH, Inc. Chapter Scholarships
NEWH, Inc. and its chapters are tasked with fundraising to provide scholarship dollars for eligible students wishing to enter the Hospitality Industry. NEWH Chapters offer scholarships annually.

NEWH, Inc. Scholarships
An objective of the NEWH By-laws is to promote scholarship, education and interest within the Hospitality Industry. NEWH, Inc. and its chapters fundraise to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career within Hospitality related fields (Interior Design, Hospitality Management, Culinary, Architecture, Senior Living, etc.).

WebstaurantStore – Culinary and Hospitality Scholarship
The WebstaurantStore Scholarship is a $1,500 Grant for students who are currently enrolled in, or are planning to attend, culinary arts school or college majoring in the Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management fields. This scholarship is awarded twice a year. The deadlines for each semester are December 1st and June 15th annually.
Eligible ICC programs include: Professional Culinary Arts, Culinary + Farm-to-Table, Pastry Arts, Cake Techniques & Design, Art of International Bread Baking, Intensive Sommelier Training and Culinary Entrepreneurship programs.

Women Chefs & Restaurateurs
For members of the WCR who are 18 years of age or older (21 for wine scholarships).

FOR NEW YORK ONLY

New York State Restaurant Association – Greater NYC Scholarship
Applicants must be residents of Bronx, Kings, Manhattan, New York, Queens, Richmond, or Staten Island County and must have been admitted to a post-secondary school where they will major in foodservice, culinary arts, hospitality management or a related field. California Restaurant Association – CRAF Scholarship
​Each year, the Foundation awards dozens of scholarships to deserving high school seniors and undergraduate students who dream of pursuing higher education to study the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industries, as well as to instructors who want to continue their education.

Up To $10,165 ICC Military Scholarships

ICC Military Students in Culinary Kitchen

Scholarship Award: $2,765 to $10,165, depending on program schedule

Applicant Eligibility: Applicant must be a military veteran, active military member or the spouse or child of a veteran or active military member

Application Deadline: Ongoing

Veterans with an honorable discharge and active military members—or their spouse or child—are qualified to apply for the ICC Military Scholarship. Students who are eligible for the maximum in federal grants and full Post 9/11 GI Bill® benefits, in combination with ICC’s MIlitary Scholarship, can attend the International Culinary Center with no out-of-pocket expenses* for the Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Pastry Arts programs.

ICC Military Scholarships for Professional Culinary or Pastry Arts range from $2,765 to $10,165, depending on program schedule.

  • Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Pastry Arts program
  • Applicants must be military veterans who have been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces and not eligible for The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) VetSuccess Program under Title 38 CFR chapter 31 or anyone who is active and has completed one term.
  • Applicants must submit a copy of their DD 214.
  • Dependents (child or spouse) of military veterans may also be eligible with appropriate documentation (birth certificate/marriage license and DD 214)

*The ICC Military Scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships and discounts, except that it can be combined with the application fee discount for qualified military applicants.

*Applies to veterans who have retained 100% of their veterans benefits, and who are determined to be eligible for the ICC maximum yearly amount for Pell Grant and FSEOG awards, in combination with ICC’s Military Scholarship. Applicants with only part of their veterans benefits remaining will have a residual balance, the amount of which will depend on their remaining veterans entitlement.

$5,000 ICC Police & Firefighter Scholarships

Scholarship Award: $5,000

Applicant Eligibility: Applicant must be a firefighter or officer who has served within the past 5 years.

Application Deadline: Varies

To honor firefighters and police officers who are currently serving or have served within the past five years, as well as their children, ICC awards Culinary and Pastry Arts scholarships on an ongoing basis.

Eligible courses include:

  • Professional Culinary Arts
  • Professional Pastry Arts

Applicants can apply in ONE of three ways:

1. Write a 500-word essay describing your educational and career goals
2. Answer three questions regarding your educational and career goals or
3. Submit a video expressing your educational and career goals

*No student may receive a combination of institutional or external scholarships that exceeds their out-of-pocket tuition cost.

Up To $5,000 International Scholarships

Scholarship Award: $5,000 and $2,500

Applicant Eligibility: Open to applicants with a home address outside the United States and who are not eligible for US federal financial aid.

Application Deadline: Ongoing

A limited number of scholarships are available to those who qualify.

$5,000 for Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Pastry Arts

$2,500 for Intensive Sommelier Training, Cake Techniques and Design or Art of International Bread Baking

Applicants must submit a personal statement in the form of a written essay (500 words or less)  or video (no more than 5 minutes in length; CD, DVD, or online submissions are acceptable) describing their passion and goals for applying to your chosen program of study, and reasons why you qualify for a scholarship.

*No student may receive a combination of institutional or external scholarships that exceeds their out-of-pocket tuition cost.
