A New Approach to Culinary Education

The International Culinary Center has a new approach to culinary education designed to revolutionize the traditional curriculum and create dynamic, new career opportunities for aspiring chefs.

Renowned for our fast-track Total Immersion method that extends beyond the four walls of a kitchen, we're now offering specialized, complimentary courses that allow you to explore everything from culinary professions to trends—giving you exposure to the specialties and skills needed to be a 21st century chef. Our specialized courses let you customize your education, and are designed to augment the International Culinary Center's in-depth programs in Culinary or Pastry Arts for current students* and recent graduates.

Aspiring chefs can access three hands-on courses from a diverse group of offerings that cover a wide range of hot culinary career paths, adding a total of 30 hours of unique, expert-led instruction to your education at no additional cost.

Among the specialized course offerings is a Private Chef program. In this course, you will get an overview of the strategies required for a personal chef who cooks in a private residence, including: working with vendors, specialty purveyors, markets, and others to source the best ingredients; understanding how to catalog menus and track preferences; having a solid foundation in food safety and hygiene; and being familiar with restricted diets and food sensitivities. Equally as important, you will learn to set goals, manage expectations, and have a fundamental knowledge of accounting and other business basics.

Classic Culinary Arts
In 600 hours, Classic Culinary Arts takes you from basic knife skills through training on every station on the line, providing you with real-world knowledge that will support you in any field of the culinary industry. You can also take 30 additional hours of specialized, complimentary courses that allow you to author your own journey and explore everything from culinary professions to trends.

Classic Pastry Arts
Learn the skills you'll need to work as a pastry chef, from pâte à choux to sugar pulling. Over six months (or nine by night), our pastry program builds on fundamental techniques taught from day one, reinforcing the basics as you advance through 19 units of learning. You can also take 30 additional hours of specialized, complimentary courses that allow you to author your own journey and explore everything from culinary professions to trends.
