Overview

Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 to a student interested in the Intensive Sommelier Training program (New York campus).

Eligible applicants must meet all of the admission requirements for the IST program. In addition to completing the online scholarship application, applicants must describe in writing (500 words or less) OR express in a video (5 minutes or less) their passion for wine and express the moment they fell in love with wine in addition to indicating their career goals and aspirations within the wine industry.

Founded in 1982, Wine & Spirits Magazine is published eight times a year and read by over 200,000 members of America’s wine community for information on established and up-and-coming regions and producers, the art and science of viticulture, industry happenings and food and wine pairing. Leading the wine magazine category, Wine & Spirits has earned the most James Beard awards for excellence in wine writing.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

To apply for the Wine & Spirits Scholarship applicants must provide:

  • A completed scholarship application online

Hard-Work

Scholarship Award:
$5,000 scholarships available

Applicant Eligibility:
Must be an applicant of Professional Culinary Arts, Professional Pastry Arts or Italian Culinary Experience

Application Deadline:

Financial need is not a criterion for this scholarship, which is designed to reward hard work. Applicants must demonstrate having attained a high level of achievement in high school, college OR the workforce prior to enrollment.
All required documentation must be submitted prior to starting a program in order to be considered.

Hard-Work
Application Criteria:

Must be an applicant of the Professional Culinary Arts, Professional Pastry Arts or Italian Culinary Experience program.

Must be a permanent resident or U.S. Citizen.

Students will be asked to submit the documentation listed in either Option 1 or Option 2, below.

OPTION 1

  • An official academic transcript (indicating graduate status) from most recently attended educational institution with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher (on 4.0 scale, or equivalent GPA on other scales).
  • An essay indicating applicant’s career goals in the culinary or pastry industry.
  • A letter of recommendation from a former teacher/professor at the institution issuing the qualifying transcript.

OPTION 2

  • An essay (300-600 words) demonstrating the applicant has achieved success through perseverance and hard work in the workplace and indicating the applicant’s career goals in the culinary or pastry industry.
  • A letter of recommendation from a former employer from the workplace written about in the essay.

*Cannot be combined with other scholarships except Alumni Mentor Scholarship

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, ICC has established the Alumni Mentor Scholarship program. It is a wonderful way to foster connection among our alumni and students.

Alumni will be asked to provide contact information along with a brief recommendation for prospective students.  Upon enrollment, students must submit a statement with their culinary goals to receive the scholarship. Alumni can refer multiple candidates. For more information, click here.

To apply for the Alumni Mentor scholarship, applicants must provide:

  • A letter of recommendation from the referring ICC alumni
  • A completed admission application
  • A completed scholarship application online.
  • Applicants must choose ONE of the three options to apply:

1. Write a 500-word essay describing your passion for cooking and goals for enrolling in your chosen program OR

2. Answer three questions: Why did you choose ICC and this program?; Once you graduate, what is your goal?; How would this scholarship help you to achieve that goal? OR

3. Submit a video you have created describing your passion for cooking and goals for enrolling in your chosen program.

Applicant Eligibility: Applicant must be a military veteran, active military member or the spouse/child of a veteran or active military member who has been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces

Application Deadline: Varies

Veterans with an honorable discharge, active military and the spouse/child of a veteran or active military member eligible for the maximum in federal grants and full Post 9/11 benefits can attend International Culinary Center with no out-of-pocket expense for the Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Pastry Arts programs at the award-winning cooking school’s New York City or Silicon Valley, CA, campus. Tuition assistance is available if full GI benefits are not.

ICC Military Scholarships for Professional Culinary or Pastry Arts  range from $2,052 to $12,052, depending on program schedule.

  • Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Pastry Arts program
  • Applicants must be military veterans who have been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces and not eligible for The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) VetSuccess Program under Title 38 CFR chapter 31.
  • Applicants must submit a copy of their DD 214.
  • Dependents (child or spouse) of military veterans may also be eligible with appropriate documentation (birth certificate/marriage license and DD 214)

(Recipients of the Post 9/11 GI Bill who are eligible for 100% toward the Intensive Sommelier course cannot receive this scholarship.)

*The ICC Military Scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships and discounts.

Scholarship Award: $5,000

Applicant Eligibility: Applicant must be a firefighter or officer who has served within the past 5 years.

Application Deadline: Varies

To honor firefighters and police officers who are currently serving or have served within the past five years, as well as their children, ICC awards Culinary and Pastry Arts scholarships on an ongoing basis.

Eligible courses include:

  • Professional Culinary Arts
  • Professional Pastry Arts

Applicants can apply in ONE of three ways:

1. Write a 500-word essay describing your educational and career goals
2. Answer three questions regarding your educational and career goals or
3. Submit a video expressing your educational and career goals
