Training for Your New Culinary Career Begins HereAre you passionate about food? Thrive in hands-on environments? If the answer is yes, then a career in the culinary industry just may be your future. The International Culinary Center’s career culinary arts and pastry arts programs, taught at campuses in New York and California, will prepare you for a culinary career in just six months (nine if you study in the evenings).
But that’s just a small taste of what we can offer. To find out how the International Culinary Center can give you the knowledge and experience you need to make your mark in the culinary world, just read on.
Get Ahead of the GameAt the International Culinary Center, culinary and pastry students learn by doing, not by sitting in a lecture hall. Our curriculum has you cooking or baking from day one, developing techniques through hands-on learning and cumulative practice. In less than a year, you’ll graduate with the skills employers crave. So while your friends are still working toward two- and four-year degrees, you’ll be working in the field, earning a salary and getting a jump on the competition.
Small School, Big EducationOne of the advantages of the International Culinary Center is our size. We're small, which means you get personal attention and instant feedback from your chef-instructors, and our classrooms provide a supportive learning environment to help students develop the confidence they need to succeed in the real world.
Plus, Professional Culinary Arts students get real-world work experience under their belts before they graduate by spending the last part of the program cooking for diners (in New York, at our award-winning restaurant, L’Ecole, and in the Monte Bello dining room in California). That gives you serious credentials to compete with.
Additionally, the International Culinary Center is also accredited by the ACCSC (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges), which demonstrates our commitment to upholding the highest standards in culinary education.
At Home in the Center of the Culinary WorldNo matter which campus you choose, studying at the International Culinary Center will put you smack-dab in the center of the action. Both New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area are home to some of the world’s finest chefs and restaurants, as well as access to the best international cuisines and ingredients. Exposure to an exciting, vibrant food scene will extend your learning to your daily life as you train to become a highly skilled professional.
Plus, you’ll have entrée to affordable student dorms that put you just a hop, skip and jump away from your chosen campus. If you’d like, we can also help secure alternative accommodations outside of student housing –we’re here to do everything possible to make your experience an unforgettable one.
Serious Cooking, Serious FunAfter class, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your learning with a host of events designed just for our students. Watch live cooking demos with notable chefs that hail from the vicinity of your campus. Club outings that expose students to restaurants, wine, and fun food excursions are a fun way to meet other students while enhancing your education. Volunteer opportunities exclusive to the International Culinary Center's students will expose you to your local culinary scene.
